    01

Pick your scan resolution, film type and any extras you need above, then complete your order online.

Write it on a piece of paper and pop it in with your films.

    3. 3
      Get your film to us

Post it to the lab or drop it through our Leeds letterbox.

    4. 4
We’ll let you know it’s here

Once your order is opened and booked in, we’ll send you an Order Received email.

    02

    Scan resolutions

Not sure which to choose? Medium is our recommendation for most customers.

    Low
    1545 × 1024 px Approx. 700 KB

Great for social media, sharing and everyday use. Plenty for a standard 6 × 4 print.

    High
    6774 × 4492 px Approx. 12 MB

Best for larger prints, heavier cropping, archiving or when you want maximum detail.

Still unsure? Choose Medium. It gives you a lot of usable resolution without the much larger High Res files.

    Good to know

    Develop Only

This processes your film into negatives without scans, ideal if you scan at home.

    Your negatives

Choose whether you want them cut into strips or left uncut when ordering.

    Half frame

Half frame films are scanned as individual frames. If you want two images together, add a note at checkout.

    Index Prints

An Index Print is one print containing thumbnails of the scans from your roll.

I’m completely new to film photography and only picked up this hobby recently. The people here were friendly and patient, explaining everything clearly and setting proper expectations. I am very happy with what I got.

I have sent film to be developed by Take it Easy multiple times: I always get the scans back quickly, and they always look great. Once I had a ripped film and they even managed to salvage my shots! Will absolutely be using again and again, and I constantly recommend to friends (plus the mascot is adorable?)

Always a great service, I sent my films to be processed and scanned on a Monday and the scans dropped in my inbox Wednesday morning. They always keep you updated with turnaround times, and the scans are superb quality.

    Film Developing FAQ

    • Need your film processed fast? With our Rush Service, any order that is booked in by us is processed the very same day, so you get your scans and results without the wait.

      Please note:
You’ll receive your order the same day only once you’ve had an "Order Received" email from us. This means we’ve opened your parcel and it’s now in the queue for developing.

A delivery confirmation from Royal Mail does not mean we’ve received or opened your parcel, it just means it’s arrived in our mailbag and is waiting to be processed.

Writing “RUSH” on the outside of your parcel helps us spot your order more quickly when we’re opening the post.

    • Low Res:~1500 x 1000 pixels. - approx 700kb
Ideal for using on the web / instagram.

      Medium Res (Standard):~3000 x 2000 pixels - approx 3mb
Perfect for social media and will blow up to A4 if printing.

      High Res:~6000 x 4000 pixels - approx 15mb
This option is perfect for those who require large files for archival and printing purposes.

    • Unless you don't want them, we will always send your negatives back. The postage is selected at checkout and is for us to return your negatives.

There is also an option for if you don't want the negatives back. If you select this we will destroy your film in a GDPR manner.

    • If we receive a parcel with film(s) in it and it doesn't have an order number with it, we won't know who it belongs to. We always post images of the parcel and film on our Instagram stories in the hope that the owner of said order sees this and can notify us of the order number.

Unfortunately if the order doesn't have an order number there is very little we can do, so if you think you've forgotten to include one when sending us film, please email us at hello@takeiteasylab.com with a full description of the package and film that was included.

    • Our Colour / B&W turnaround is usually within 4 working days of receipt of your order. E6/ECN-2 orders can be up to 1-2 weeks. Up-to-date turnaround times can be found in top header or on our Instagram.

    • Let’s really hope this never happens! But in the unfortunate case that it does, don’t worry, we’d never make you pay full price for this. We will happily refund the cost of the service, minus developing.

    • Once your files are delivered via Dropbox, we keep your files stored online for three months.

After three months these files are deleted, so make you sure move all folders out of our dropbox onto your own HD or storage!

We store physical orders / negatives at the lab for one month. These orders can be collected during weekdays while we are open. After one month these physical items will be destroyed in a GDPR compliant manner.

    • Yes we can. We can push your colour and black and white film up to 2 stops for no extra cost.

For black and white pushed film, this is done externally and will extend the turnaround time by a week or so.

    • Once we have processed your order, we use the email address you supplied on your order form to send the files via Dropbox. Make sure you check your spam folder too.

At checkout you have the option to receive your negatives back via post or you can collect them from our lab.
