What are your opening times?

Our lab is open Monday to Friday 10.30am until 5pm, but our letterbox is open 24/7 meaning you can order online and drop off film anytime that is convienient for you.

What happens if I forgot to include an order number?

If we receive a parcel with film(s) in it and it doesn't have an order number with it, we won't know who it belongs to. We always post images of the parcel and film on our Instagram stories in the hope that the owner of said order sees this and can notify us of the order number.

Unfortunately if the order doesn't have an order number there is very little we can do, so if you think you've forgotten to include one when sending us film, please email us at hello@takeiteasylab.com with a full description of the package and film that was included.

Do you develop E6 / Slide film?

We do! Head here to find the order page.

You can go down the traditional route of proper E6 developing, or you can have your film cross processed in C41 chemistry. To do this, choose C41 film developing when sending in an E6 film with a note saying that you require your film Cross Processing.

How do I send in my order?

After placing your order, simply package up your film/s in a secure padded envelope along with your name and order number.

You can simply write your order on a piece of paper and include it in your parcel.

From there you can either post us your films, or drop them through our letterbox at:

Take It Easy Film Lab
Aire Street Workshops
30-34 Aire Street
LS1 4HT

For more information, see our how to order page here

What are your turnaround times?

Our Colour / B&W turnaround is usually within 4 working days of receipt of your order. E6/ECN-2 orders can be up to 1-2 weeks. Up-to-date turnaround times can be found in top header or on our Instagram.

How long does it take to get my negatives / merch back?

We aim to post back your negatives, prints, or merch as soon as possible

If your order includes merch or film as well as film developing, this will be sent out with your negatives.

During busier periods, negatives being posted back can take up to 3 weeks to a month.

What happens if my film comes out blank?

Let’s really hope this never happens! But in the unfortunate case that it does, don’t worry, we’d never make you pay full price for this. We will happily refund the cost of the service, minus developing.

How long are my physical / Dropbox files stored for?

Once your files are delivered via Dropbox, we keep your files stored online for three months.

After three months these files are deleted, so make you sure move all folders out of our dropbox onto your own HD or storage!

We store physical orders / negatives at the lab for only one month. These orders can be collected during weekdays while we are open. After one month these physical items will be destroyed in a GDPR compliant manner.

Do you send my negatives back?

Unless you don't want them, we will always send your negatives back. The postage is selected at checkout and is for us to return your negatives.

There is also an option for if you don't want the negatives back. If you select this we will destroy your film in a GDPR manner.

Do you develop ECN2 Film?

We do! Head here to find the order page.

Do you make prints?

We do. We can print your photos in both gloss and lustre effect from 6x4" all the way up to 12x18", perfect for sticking to your walls or archiving in a photo album. Check it out here

We also do Giclee prints here

Can you push my film?

Yes we can. We can push your colour and black and white film up to 2 stops.

For colour films being pushed, these are done at the end of the day due to us having to change settings on the developer, so there may be an additional short delay. No extra cost though.

For black and white pushed film, this is done at our Nottingham lab and adds on a few days to turnaround.

How do I get my negatives and scans back?

Once we have processed your order, we use the email address you supplied on your order form to send the files via Dropbox. Make sure you check your spam folder too.

At checkout you have the option to receive your negatives back via post or you can collect them from our lab.

Do you offer free shipping?

We have free shipping for all orders over £50 to the UK.

What equipment do you use?

In the Leeds lab we develop your Colour films using a Noritsu V50. For our black and white developing we use a Noritsu QSF 430L.

We scan your films using our three top spec Noritsu HS-1800 scanners.

What is the difference between your scan resolutions?

Low Res:
1545 x 1024 pixels. - approx 700kb
Ideal for using on the web / instagram.

Medium Res (Standard):
3130 x 2075 pixels - approx 2.5mb
Perfect for social media and will blow up to A4 if printing.

High Res:
6774 x 4492 pixels - approx 12mb
This option is perfect for those needing large files for archiving and printing over A4.

What happens if I'm unhappy with my order?

We hope this will never happen but in the event that you're dissatisfied with the service you receive from us please get in touch and we'll do everything we can to resolve your issue.

What do you do with your waste chemicals?

Being aware of how we removed of our chemical lab waste was high on the plan when opening Take It Easy Lab.  Our chemical waste is collected in the lab by using a Metafix filtration system, which filters the chemicals meaning the waste is safe to be poured down a drain. The silver is also recovered via the system which then goes on to be used in silver jewellery / cutlery etc!
