Film character

The look

A quick idea of what to expect before you load a roll.

Colour & tone Natural colour in low light

Warm, flattering skin tones and lively but controlled colour hold up well as the light starts to fade.

Grain Medium grain

Visible enough to feel analogue while still keeping plenty of detail.

Contrast Balanced

A useful middle ground with detail retained through highlights and shadows.

From the lab

Why we like it

Portra 800 is expensive, but it earns its place when the light gets difficult. We like how it keeps skin tones natural while giving you much more freedom indoors and later in the day.
