Photo Social
Our photo socials are open to everyone and completely free of charge.
This is a friendly event for anyone who would like to share their work or connect with others in the Leeds photography community.
We encourage attendees to bring along some of their images or bodies of work to share with the group. However, please don’t feel obliged to bring anything, you’re more than welcome to come along simply to join in and support others. The social is a chance to meet new people and enjoy engaging with your peers. Everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!
We have three principles that we try to adhere to during the socials. The first one is quite a firm one… Be kind. There is a place for more substantial critique in creative practice, but the social is intended as a space to encourage others and lift them up, not to shoot them down. If possible, we ask that you bring physical prints. Not only is it nice to show something tangible, but it’s also good to spread work out on a table and let people really look at them!
We also have a no gear talk rule… discussing your pictures is more constructive when we’re considering why we’re making work as opposed to the tools we used to create it. You’re welcome to have gear chat in the pub afterwards!
If you'd like to attend, please book a free ticket so we can keep an eye on numbers. Everyone is welcome, and it’s completely free.
This event is BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) – alcoholic or non-alcoholic, the choice is yours.

Unless you don't want them, we will always send your negatives back. The postage is selected at checkout and is for us to return your negatives.
There is also an option for if you don't want the negatives back. If you select this we will destroy your film in a GDPR manner. -
If we receive a parcel with film(s) in it and it doesn't have an order number with it, we won't know who it belongs to. We always post images of the parcel and film on our Instagram stories in the hope that the owner of said order sees this and can notify us of the order number.
Unfortunately if the order doesn't have an order number there is very little we can do, so if you think you've forgotten to include one when sending us film, please email us at hello@takeiteasylab.com with a full description of the package and film that was included. -
Our Colour / B&W turnaround is usually within 4 working days of receipt of your order. E6/ECN-2 orders can be up to 1-2 weeks. Up-to-date turnaround times can be found in top header or on our Instagram.

Let’s really hope this never happens! But in the unfortunate case that it does, don’t worry, we’d never make you pay full price for this. We will happily refund the cost of the service, minus developing.

Once your files are delivered via Dropbox, we keep your files stored online for three months.
After three months these files are deleted, so make you sure move all folders out of our dropbox onto your own HD or storage!
We store physical orders / negatives at the lab for one month. These orders can be collected during weekdays while we are open. After one month these physical items will be destroyed in a GDPR compliant manner. -
Yes we can. We can push your colour and black and white film up to 2 stops for no extra cost.
For black and white pushed film, this is done externally and will extend the turnaround time by a week or so. -
Once we have processed your order, we use the email address you supplied on your order form to send the files via Dropbox. Make sure you check your spam folder too.
At checkout you have the option to receive your negatives back via post or you can collect them from our lab.
